In our collaboration with funds, lead investors and partners, we support businesses in the global Food & Agri value chains and across different sectors in the Netherlands. Leveraging our extensive network in Food & Agri and as the largest SME bank in the Netherlands, we provide valuable access to networks and expertise for new investment opportunities.
We act in pre-deal situations as well as in syndication; adding value in deal assessment as well as throughout the holding period. In global Food & Agri, we can built upon >120 years of experience, our thought leadership across different subsectors and our truly global footprint. In the Netherlands, our largest home market, we build upon our strong position in retail and wholesale banking to support successful and sustainable growth of Dutch companies.

Arnaud Zwaal joined the Fund & Co-Investments team of Rabo Investments in March 2024 as an Associate Director. He will focus on further expanding the European co-investments portfolio together with existing and new private equity partners. Prior to Rabobank, Arnaud spent seven years at EY Strategy and Transactions with an emphasis on lead M&A advisory and complex valuation analysis. During the last three years he focused on direct equity investments in food and agriculture ventures at an impact fund.

Boyd Joined Rabo Investments in July 2022, focussing on global Fund and Co-Investments in the Food & Agri, Sustainability and Energy Transition sectors as well as investments across various sectors in The Netherlands. Prior to RI, Boyd gained 2 years of experience at a Merger & Acquisition Boutique in the SME and mid-market segment where he specialized in Business Valuation, Financial Due Diligence and Corporate Law. Before that, he completed internships as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture, Stedin and Koninklijke BAM Groep with a focus on digital innovation and the energy transition.
Boyd holds both a Master’s degree in Business Development & Entrepreneurship from Utrecht University with a specialization in Entrepreneurial Finance and a Master’s degree in Financial Management (graduated cum laude) from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam with a specialization in Corporate Valuation.

Cindy joined Rabo Investments in May 2022 as business support officer for the Equity and Fund & Co team. After a career as management assistant in the IT & Offshore industry she started at Rabobank in 2019 as management assistant in the CIOO Domain.

Ilias has been working for RI since March 2014. He focuses mainly on Private Equity fund investments. Ilias started working for Rabobank in 2013 as a Management Trainee. Following his traineeship of one year, he started working as an analyst in the Private Equity team focusing on debt-to-equity swaps and the management of this turn-around portfolio. Since 2017 Ilias started focusing more on private equity fund investments both in Dutch (sector agnostic) and International (Food & Agri focus) funds. Ilias graduated in Business Administration from the VU University Amsterdam.

Ilse joined the team in October 2020, focusing on global Funds and Co-Investments in the Food & Agri sector as well as local investments in the Netherlands across all sectors. Before joining the team, Ilse completed the Rabo Global Traineeship. During her traineeship she gained experience in Acquisition Finance, Financial Restructuring & Recovery, Financial Advisory & Solutions and Rabo Investments. Ilse holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Amsterdam.

Kars joined the team in December 2021, focusing on Fund and Co-Investments. He started at Rabobank in October 2019 as a Global Management Trainee. During his traineeship of one year he gained experience at Credit Risk, Global Corporate Clients (London), Financial Restructuring & Recovery and Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to Rabo Investments Kars worked within the Financial Restructuring & Recovery department where he supported companies in financial distress. Kars holds a Master’s degree in Business Law from the University of Leiden.

Laura has a focus on fund and co-investments with a core focus on impact venture funds and impact or energy transition buyout funds. She joined Rabobank in 2013 as a management trainee and has worked with Financial Advisory solutions (FAS) and in the direct private equity team. Laura studied business economics and financial economics in Rotterdam.

Mai Karas joined Rabo Investments in April 2018, initially focusing on investing seed and growth equity in start-ups in food and agriculture. Since 2019 Mai is dedicated to co-investments, targeting more mature businesses alongside private equity partners in North America and Europe. Prior to Rabobank, Mai spent two years in private equity and venture capital at ADM Capital and Shift Invest, investing across F&A value-chains. During his studies in Wageningen, he founded and ran a super-food company, producing and distributing healthy juices from his native Croatia.
Mai holds a master’s degree in Management in Life Sciences from Wageningen University, and a joint Bachelor degree from KU Leuven & University of Zagreb in Agriculture engineering and Agriculture economics.

Myrthe joined the RI team in January 2019, focusing on global Funds and Co-Investments in the Food & Agri sector as well as local investments in the Netherlands across all sectors. Prior to RCI, Myrthe gained experience within Acquisition Finance and Corporate Finance (Sector Banking Origination) at Rabobank, bringing relevant deal experience and sector knowledge to portfolio companies and partners. Myrthe holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Maastricht.

Rogier joined Rabo Investments in January 2021, focusing on Funds and Co-Investments in the global Food & Agri sector as well as investments in the Netherlands across all sectors. He brings along a longstanding experience and network in the financial sponsor community given his prior experience in a variety of roles in leveraged finance and sponsor coverage at Rabobank, in the Netherlands, Europe and US. Since Rogier joined Rabobank’s Leveraged Finance department in 2005 he has been maintaining and building relationships with the global financial sponsor community by originating and executing transactions for Private Equity clients.
Rogier has worked in both the European and the US market where he has been located in the New York office between 2015 and 2018. Before joining Rabobank, Rogier worked for 8 years with several Dutch mid-market M&A boutiques. Rogier holds a Master’s degree in Tax Law from Tilburg University.

Sjoerd joined Rabo Investments in August 2022, focussing on global Fund and Co-Investments in the Food & Agri sector as well as investments across various sectors in the Netherlands. He started his career at Rabobank in April 2020 as a relationship manager in the SME segment. Before joining the team, Sjoerd completed the Rabo Global Traineeship where he gained experience in Corporate Lending, Corporate Venturing, Trade & Commodity Finance and Rabo Investments.
Sjoerd holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from Tilburg university, with a specialization in sustainable corporate entrepreneurship.
